Favor de leer con detenimiento, antes de enviar una solicitud de participación.
Enviar un correo electrónico a mexicoy2kloopfest@gmail.com, con asunto en mayúsculas: ‘NOMBRE DE ARTISTA’ PARTICIPACIÓN MXY2K24 LOOPFEST.
Incluir en el cuerpo del mensaje la ciudad de procedencia y datos de contacto. Cuenta de correo alterno (si existe), número de teléfono celular, sitio web y redes sociales. Aclarar si se trata de una participación individual, o en ensamble, y en dado caso de cuántos elementos consiste.
Anexar enlaces a videos de tu trabajo más reciente (no necesitan ser grabaciones en formato profesional).
Al final del mensaje, pegar la siguiente declaración:
“He leído y estoy de acuerdo con los requisitos de participación. Entiendo la organización y forma de trabajo de México Y2K International Live Looping Festival, y deseo ser considerado para participar en la siguiente edición.”
Firmar con tu nombre completo, así como nombre artístico.
La convocatoria para artistas residentes en México quedará cerrada el día 24 de febrero a las 23:59 Hrs.
Para artistas residentes en el extranjero, se extiende al día 15 de marzo a las 23:59 Hrs.
México Y2K International Live Looping Festival, es una extensión del evento principal con sede en Santa Cruz, California, fundado por Rick Walker. Él mismo ha expresado lo siguiente: "Y2K Mexico is the most professional live looping festival I've ever seen out of the 100+ festivals that have occurred in 57 cities in 21 countries worldwide."
El festival reúne a representantes de diversos países y tanto la camaradería como el intercambio de ideas es fuera de serie; algo que no comúnmente se vive en este tipo de eventos.
Toda la organización del mismo es completamente independiente y de carácter cultural, no cuenta con apoyos gubernamentales ni privados, lo que nos obliga a solicitar a cada participante que cubra sus propios gastos de transporte y hospedaje. Por otro lado, nos vemos impedidos a ofrecer un pago por actuaciones.
El requisito principal es que tu música sea realizada mediante loops totalmente en vivo, no se aceptan pistas, secuencias, o ritmos pregrabados. No hay restricciones en cuanto al género o estilo, sin embargo buscamos que el discurso musical sea propositivo. En el caso de ensambles, todos los integrantes deberán crear sus propios loops.
Cuentas con un máximo de 30 minutos para realizar tu presentación. Deberás hacer tu montaje en máximo 15 minutos y desmontar en no más de 10, mientras otro artista realiza su ejecución. Te pedimos ser sumamente discreto y hacerlo en silencio. Por respeto al público y a los demás artistas, es de vital importancia que todo el programa corra a tiempo, por lo que tu presentación podrá ser interrumpida si comienza a alargarse.
El festival no provee backline. Deberás enviar salida de línea (mono o estéreo) a la mezcladora principal, mediante plug 1/4” o XLR.

Please read these rules thoroughly, before applying to perform at the festival.
Send an email to mexicoy2kloopfest@gmail.com, with subject in capital letters: 'ARTIST NAME' PERFORMING MXY2K24 LOOPFEST.
Include in the message your city and country of origin and contact information. Alternative email account (if it exists), cell phone number, website and social networks. In case of an ensemble performance, please let us know how many elements it consists of.
Attach links to videos of your most recent work (they do not need to be professional format recordings).
At the end of the message, paste the following statement:
“I have read and agree to the Rules of Performance and understand how Mexico Y2K International Live Looping Festival is organized and wish to apply to perform at it."
Sign with your full name, as well as artistic name.
The call for artists who reside in Mexico will be closed on February 24th at 11:59 p.m.
For international artists, it extends until March 15th at 11:59 p.m.
Mexico Y2K International Live Looping Festival is an extension of the main event based in Santa Cruz, California, founded by Rick Walker. In his own words: "Y2K Mexico is the most professional live looping festival I've ever seen out of the 100+ festivals that have occurred in 57 cities in 21 countries worldwide."
The festival brings together artists from different countries, both the camaraderie and the exchange of ideas are extraordinary; something that is rarely experienced in similar kinds of events.
The entire organization is completely independent and cultural in nature. It does not have official or private support, so we must ask each artist to cover their own transportation and lodging expenses, and we can't offer any form of compensation for performances.
The main requirement is that your music be performed by live looping only. Pre-recorded tracks, sequences, or rhythms are NOT accepted. There are no restrictions in terms of genre or style, however, we seek that the musical discourse is purposeful. In the case of ensembles, all members must create their own loops.
You have a maximum of 30 minutes for your performance. Artists have a 15-minute maximum completely discrete and silent load in, and a 10-minute maximum complete silent evacuation of the stage while another artist performs. Out of respect for the public and other artists, the entire program must run on time, so your presentation may be interrupted if it starts to run too long.
The festival does not provide backline. You must send line output (mono or stereo) to the main mixer, through a 1/4” or XLR plug.
